PRIMARY SCHOOL
School Hours:
Monday – Friday 8.00 am - 3.30 pm
School Semester:
There are TWO semesters in a year: January to May and June
to November.
Classes:
Maximum 24 students per class
Student teacher ratio - 1 : 10
Each student will be assigned a personal tutor to :
- Monitor their academic progress
- Liaise with all teachers in all aspects of the student’s
well rounded education
- Provide pastoral care
At the end of every semester, the personal tutor produces a confidential
report which will serve as a basis for discussion during Report
Card Day.
Teacher Qualification:
In order to provide your children with the best possible
education, Sri Cempaka’s policy is to employ teachers with
high qualifications and with many years of teaching experience.
Main Curriculum:
KBSR (Kurikulum Baru Sekolah Rendah).
The School follows the National Curriculum. Cempakans are prepared
for the Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) at Primary School.
Subjects Offered:
Bahasa Melayu, English Language, **Mathematics, **Science, Mandarin
(Compulsory), Information & Communication Technology, Kajian
Tempatan, Moral/Agama, Music, Art & Craft, Swimming.
** The medium of instruction is English.
Extra Curricular Activities:
Cempaka Cheras prides itself in the variety of extra curricular
activities that it offers. These activities help to instill leadership
qualities, while demonstrate the importance of discipline to the
students. We also endeavor to develop the interests and talents
of the students to the fullest potential. The range of activities
Sri Cempaka offers is as follows:
Uniform bodies

Sports
Badminton, Soccer, Basketball, Netball, Handball, Rugby, Swimming,
Table-tennis, Water polo, Softball, Wall Climbing, Gymnastics, Athletics,

Performing Arts Curriculum in the Primary School
Performing Arts is integrated into the Standard One to Standard
Four curriculum.
There are four components in this syllabus:
- Proficiency in a Music Instrument – the violin, clavinova
or recorder
- Speech & Drama
- Vocal Training
- Physical Training (Artistic & Rhythmic Gymnastics)
This curriculum is compulsory until Standard Six, after which it
becomes optional and scheduled after regular school hours.
Cempaka Junior Awards Scheme:
The aim of this Scheme is to nurture all-rounded Cempakans
who not only excel academically, but are equally competent and comfortable
in the sporting arena as they are serving their community.
Bus Services:
We have an integrated Transport System available for all
students, providing transport services from door-to-door.
Meals:
Meals are included in the semester fees for Standard 1,
2 & 3. Students from Standard Four onwards will have to purchase
their food from the school canteen. All food is ‘halal’.
Entry
Requirement:
Entrance Examination Fee : RM 1,000.00 (non-refundable)
Registration Fee * : RM 5,000.00
Advance Fee * : RM 5,000.00
* These fees are payable along with the Entrance Examination Fee.
** Application form together with a copy of your child's Birth
Certificate/NRIC (A4 size) and ONE Passport Size Photograph
is required upon registration for the Entrance Examination. All
applications will only be processed after payment of RM11,000.00 has
been made. All fees should be made payable to CEMPAKA SCHOOLS (1983) SDN. BHD.
