BODY
“…a sportsman…”
Nurture the Body
Do I accept a loss with dignity, or with disappointment? Do I spend
time improving my own skills, or stop to help a teammate improve?
These are all crucial questions that Cempakans have faced and learned
to answer stunningly throughout their years in Cempaka. Outside
of the classroom, the school helps to mold and shape your child
into the sportsman that he wants to be—whether it be a star
athlete, a spirited Cheerleader, or someone on the sidelines who
has helped to make a difference for the team.
Cempakans relish the opportunity to work off the stress of a mentally-challenging
day, enjoying prime facilities such as a 25m pool for swimming and
water polo; an expansive field for soccer, rugby, softball, and
track events; and enclosed courts for badminton, tennis, and netball.
In training hard, in spending hours with team members, in learning
the significance of cooperation and listening and understanding,
Cempakans discover how to answer significant questions dealing with
loss and the value of a team. And in learning and discovering, their
internal spirit blossoms along with their bodies.
Athletic Opportunities
Cempakans experience the thrills and throes of competition when
four School Houses compete with each other in sports such as swimming,
soccer, and tennis. Traditional House Decorations and March Past
events further allow students to showcase their talent through athletic
and artsy performances.
